The Social Investment Optimizer seeks to understand the value of investing in society through evidence-based intervention and prevention efforts. We partner with researchers, practitioners and policymakers interested in evaluating the economic and budgetary impact of programs and policies—including cost, cost-effectiveness and benefit-cost analyses.
The Optimizer also engages in the development and dissemination of novel methods and guidance for improving the rigor and accuracy of economic evaluation. This includes housing the Prevention Economics Planning and Research Network (PEPR), an NIH-funded community of scholars improving the economic evaluation of health and social programs.
The Optimizer offers collaboration around:
- conducting cost, cost-effectiveness, cost-benefit, and budgetary impact analyses of social investments
- support for economic evaluation requirements in IES, NIH, and/or NIJ grant proposals
- methods development and testing for optimizing intervention models.
